Job Description:

What We Are Looking For

The Campus Interior Designer supports all Facilities Management team members and reports to the Director of Space Planning & Interior Design and aids in any improvements related to interior design, furniture, and finishes, and other related roles as assigned. This position would also audit and verify interior spaces and aids all Facilities Management team members regarding fixtures, furniture, and finishes and other related matters.

What You Will Do

• Helps maintain campus approved office and furniture standards and oversees conformance with those standards
• Assists user groups on small finish upgrades or questions related to furniture or finishes
• Assists the Director of Space Planning & Interior Design with simple space planning designs necessary for project scope determination
• Verifies existing conditions and spaces involving projects
• Coordinates walks for the project managers with the Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) to meet the requirements for Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS)
• Assists in the finish selections for Campus Living & Learning (CL&L) on summer maintenance projects
• Assists the AVP for Real Estate with help on University owned houses or senior leader’s office finishes, fixtures, and furniture
• Facilitates the service provider or other 3rd parties with upkeep for all Classrooms (110) related to facilities and furniture
• Assists the Office of Registrar with questions on classroom furniture style, count, condition, etc.
• Manages the furniture asset inventory in ArcGIS for campus classroom furniture and other spaces as directed
• Tracks stored information for cyclical purchasing and upkeep of classroom furniture and orders replacement furniture as needed
• Assists in facility refresh and upkeep for all academic buildings and exterior seating spaces
• Walks all interior space twice a year, or as directed, to determine accuracy of departmental space in alliance with the CAFM
• Assists and reports any discrepancies in the audited spaces to the GIS & CAFM Specialist
• Works with the warehouse manager to organize and determine best use of surplus furniture
• Catalog and maintain an inventory for system furniture
• Helps facilitate donations of un-wanted furniture to non-profit groups

Required Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Interior Design or related field, two years relevant experience, and a Christian faith are required. Four years relevant work experience are preferred. Experience will not be accepted in lieu of the educational requirement. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• Experience in architecture and understand building design and construction documentation
• Have excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
• Capability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and priorities
• Familiarity with working in a higher education environment is preferred
• A valid driver’s license
