The Associate Vice President (AVP) provides leadership and oversight of the Budget Planning and Administration office and staff, supports the President and campus in the development and implementation of the University budget, and works closely with the CSU Chancellor’s Office on campus budgetary matters. The AVP, under the direction of the Vice President for Administration/CFO, has responsibility for assisting and advising family units within the Administration and Business Affairs Division (ABA). The AVP manages fiscal directives to enable ABA to achieve its strategic goals and initiatives in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. This position will be a highly visible position within the university and will serve as an advisor and assistant to the Vice President for Administration/CFO regarding the general leadership of the division. The position will also serve as the key budget resource to the University Budget Advisory Committee which makes recommendations to the President on campus budgetary matters. The incumbent confers with the Vice President for Administration/CFO, and President for matters pertaining to strategic planning and resources development and allocation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited university and/or college
Eight years of progressively responsible experience in a senior level financial and management position
Experience as a supervisor or manager in a large and complex organization
Experience in building and advocating for efficient business processes and systems
High level, complex budget management experience (e.g. budget reporting, planning, development)
