Job Duties
The Associate Director, Facilities Planning, provides vital space planning and pre-design expertise to structure and manage the programming and physical planning of capital construction projects to meet the Perelman School of Medicine space needs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Facilities Planning, and working closely with the Senior Director, Program & Facilities Planning, the Associate Director will interface with research, academic, and administrative stakeholders at all levels to develop programming and space planning scenarios for a broad range of capital and strategic planning initiatives ranging from new buildings to modest office renovations. Additionally, the Associate Director will develop facility programming and planning analysis, recommending appropriate allocation of facilities resources, and implementing facilities initiatives to support the School’s mission. This position is considered “essential.”
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience: Bachelor of Architecture, Facilities Management, or related technical field and three to five years’ experience in the planning and design of research facilities or similar design renovation/construction projects of medium size or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
Preferred: Five to seven years’ experience in the planning and design of Research or Healthcare, preferably in a medical school or academic environment.
Licensure as a Registered Architect or Certification as a Facilities Management Professional by the International Facilities Management Association is preferred.

Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize deliverables, and organize workloadAdditional Technical Requirements:
Dynamic and tech-savvy. Proficient with MS Office Suite (MS Project, PowerPoint, & Excel), Auto CAD (Revit proficiency is preferred), and Bluebeam Revu. Prefer advanced proficiency with MS Excel including ability to sort, merge, and filter data, create pivot tables, use macros functions, lookup functions, and conditional statements/formulas
Ability to learn new facilities management- and database-driven software applications such as SQL Server and Tririga
Working knowledge of building codes/standards and the application thereof
