Job Duties

The University of Mississippi seeks an Assistant Director, Strategic Planning to provide leadership and expertise to support departmental and institution-wide strategic planning activities, support the work of the Strategic Planning Council, generate strategic plan reports, and to promote the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion that lies at the heart of our university. This position is part of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, & Planning and reports directly to the Director of Institutional Research, Effectiveness, and Planning.

Examples of work to be performed and essential functions include:
• Manages systems to facilitate strategic planning activities and initiatives.
• Identifies, develops, and maintains benchmarks, strategic plan key performance indicators and other metrics, and performance measures.
• Prepares, interprets, and communicates complex statistical information in writing, verbally, and graphically to diverse audiences via multiple media platforms.
• Manages institutional strategic plan website.
• Coordinates activities of the Strategic Planning Council.
• Supports the university’s integrated and comprehensive strategic planning process.
• Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information on national trends in educational excellence criteria and best practices in planning and strategic issues.
• Evaluates and makes recommendations towards enhancing or improving institutional strategic plan, performance measures, and initiatives to improve effectiveness.
• Communicates strategic direction and accomplishments to Strategic Planning Council and constituents.
• Co-facilitates workshops on effective strategic planning strategies.
• Consults with campus leaders to develop, implement, and measure strategic goals.
• Solicits feedback on the use of reported information and modifies reports to improve usefulness.
• Consults with campus partners in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement to develop, implement, and measure strategic goals of the Pathways to Equity diversity plan.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Search Information
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
• Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
