The Department of Education is currently accepting resumes for a full-time, 12-month position of Assessment Coordinator.

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites applications to fill the 12-month position of Assessment Coordinator in the Department of Education. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position begins on July 1, 2022.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Candidate must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant social science discipline, plus 1 year of related experience in higher education assessment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Collaborate extensively with faculty in conceptualizing appropriate research and assessment methods, this includes developing and facilitating training on all matters related to program assessment for all Unit faculty.
• Work closely with faculty to develop and refine assessment instruments including tests, surveys, observation protocols, interview focus group questionnaires, and rubrics for use in assessment of student work.
• Assume a leading role in the preparation of reports for the Unit, the university, and other external bodies on assessment activities (including Title II reports, State Reports, and national accreditation efforts), and work closely with the Director of Institutional Planning and Research on the development of such reports.
• Ensure institutional compliance with state program approval and national accreditation requirements.
• Support the Education Department, and Unit in program reviews, and develop documentation for State program approval and/or national accreditation.
• Work collaboratively with the Department Chair to share data for continuous program improvement, and perform other duties as needed to support the successful accreditation process.

Other Duties Required:
• Efficiently use statistical software packages like SPSS, SAS, Excel, and Microsoft Word suite.
• Efficiently use Live text and EdTPA to collect and analyze data for program improvement, including collecting, maintaining, and statistically evaluating assessment data for program assessment, and program approval/accreditation; working with faculty to develop assessment instruments; completing internal and external reports presenting assessment results to program faculty and advisory groups; and working with accreditation agencies.
• Attend both Unit meeting sand professional development meetings related to assessment or accreditation.
• Facilitate the state requirement for literacy course revisions.
• Teach one or two undergraduate courses in Psychology as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chair.
