Job Duties

This is a temporary Continuing Education Instructor position, typically assigned as-needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment. This instruction position for American Sign Language is scheduled to run for 10 two hour sessions during each quarter at Bellevue College’s North Campus.

Instructors teach non-credit Continuing Education courses as dictated by program, course schedule, and enrollment demand. Instructors support students in achieving course outcomes through the utilization of teaching techniques effective with non-traditional students, including adult learners. Instructors may be asked to review student work during class and outside of class using assessment criteria provided by the Continuing Education division.

Required Qualifications

• Two years of industry experience or prior instruction experience in American Sign Language
• Experience delivering instruction to adult learners (may include internal corporate training)
• Ability to connect and build relationships with students and colleagues from varied ethnicities, ages, backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities
• Effective communication and written skills
