Campus spaces dedicated to community building and wellness are critical to student success, but it can be challenging to provide these spaces in facilities with aging infrastructure, limited funding, and deferred maintenance backlogs. After sitting nearly empty for years, the Neihardt Complex on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) City Campus took on a renewed purpose to address student belonging and wellbeing. This symposium will share UNL’s revisioning process for the Neihardt Complex, the master plan implications that tied the vision and the campus together, and the current programming efforts to repurpose space into a community building and wellness space.
