St. Louis, MoJames Kolker, FAIA, LEED AP, is Associate Vice Chancellor and University Architect at Washington University in St. Louis, responsible for leading long-term planning, design and development of its campuses and surrounding areas. He works closely with senior academic and administrative leadership to ensure that, as the university grows and academic programs evolve, schools and administrative offices have the space needed to excel in their teaching, learning, research and other activities. He maintains campus excellence in design in both new construction and preserving its historic buildings and outdoor campus spaces. He has spoken nationally and internationally on campus planning and architectural design for academic and medical center campuses.
