Gerald Vander Mey
Director of University Planning and Design
Clemson University
Vander Mey has led the development of Clemson’s Interpretive Plan project from its initial inception to its ongoing implementation. His role as the voice of the University makes him uniquely qualified to lead the presentation of this project. His office has a wide range of responsibilities, including landscape architecture, capital and project planning, space planning, traffic/transit and parking planning, and master planning. Vander Mey has addressed the SCUP community at five SCUP annual conferences on a wide range of topics, most notably sustainability in historic environments and university/community relationships. He is a registered landscape architect, a LEED accredited professional, and holds a bachelor’s degree of landscape architecture and master’s degree in architecture.
