The Professional Development Committee (PDC) leads SCUP’s learning opportunities, aiming to meet the professional development needs of the SCUP community. Keen to the external forces shaping higher education, the PDC works with SCUP’s learning team to align program development. Touching everything from workshops for the annual conference, assessments of members’ professional development needs, and the management of the SCUP Fellows, the PDC helps create a community of learners poised to grow both professionally and personally.
The PDC’s work supports SCUP’s strategic plan adopted by the board of directors. The PDC’s efforts support the following initiatives:

- Strategy: Professional Toolbox – Develop, implement, and continually improve a set of tools to strengthen planning in higher education.
- Strategy: Individual Learning – Develop, implement, and continually improve a personalized and competency-driven portfolio of learning products.
- Strategy: Institutional Support – Develop, implement, and continually improve services to develop institutional planning capabilities.
- Strategy: Collaborative Learning – Create stakeholder networks designed to improve collaboration, share effective practices, and solve critical problems facing our stakeholders.
