Jonah Berger

Leading Innovation & Effective Culture Change

Jonah Berger
New York Times best-selling author of Contagious: Why Things Catch On, Invisible Influence: The Hidden Forces that Shape Behavior, and The Catalyst: How to Change Anyone’s Mind

Based on his groundbreaking research on organizational communication and word of mouth, Jonah Berger examines the science behind leading effective change in an era of dramatic technological and business transformation. Why is it so difficult to promote change in the first place? How do you grease the system to make people more likely to adopt positive behaviors and ignore negative ones? How do you push past mental barriers that insist innovative practices are impossible or fraught with risk? Read more about what he will offer.

Tuesday Keynote (August 1 | 4:15 PM)

Challenges to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging: Impact on Higher Education Planning

Initiatives that support diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are under fire in at least 21 states. The breadth of these efforts and their impact on university communities, student success, and long-term planning are not well understood. So, what do these bills and other efforts to restrict DEIB funding mean for higher education, for students, and for planning? The impacts across the campus are far-reaching, from student success to strategic planning, to possibly the built environment. Paulette Granberry Russell, J.D., president of NADOHE will present a high-level perspective, followed by a discussion with college and university leaders. Read more about what they will offer.
