Leading Edge Sustainability Practices – What's Your Question?
The American Institute of Architects' Committee on Architecture for Education (AIA), The New York Times Knowledge Network, and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) are jointly developing a webcast that will focus on a significant issue, leading edge practice, or concept in sustainable design. Who are the global leaders in sustainable design that you would like to hear from? What are your most pressing needs in sustainable design in a postsecondary education environment?
Would you take one minute to help guide the development of our program? There are only three questions!

Building Design and Construction magazine published a substantial white paper on professional attitudes and understanding about green building. SCUP members were surveyed once again as this is a follow-up from a similar study conducted in 2004. Here's the higher education portion of that report (PDF). Did you miss the webinar HEASC presented in June, "Education For a Sustainable Future"? Visit www.aashe.org/heasc/profdev.php to download the presentation.
Here's a link that will bring up a predefined GooglePrint (beta) search which locates books about sustainability in higher education.
The Minnesota Sustainable Design Guide is highly recommended by former SCUP president Trudis Heinecke. She says, "It may be the best 'practical' site that I
have found. It has great process graphics and walks through the
process of setting goals, strategies, and performance measures in each step
of the planning, design, construction, and operation phases. And there
are worksheets for each phase of the process."
