Book: Non-Architect's Guide to
Major Capital Projects
Anyone undertaking a new construction or major renovation needs to get this book and use it as early in the pre-planning stages as possible! "[N]on-architects
are often placed in positions of leadership or responsibility in a capital project process. Administrators, managers, and academics, while no doubt experts within
their own specialties, often have little or no training to prepare them for a role in a major capital project. The purpose of this book is to provide the non-architect
with a broad framework of understanding in the steps, phases, and sequence of planning, designing, and delivering a capital project."
Campus Planning and Facility Development
This annotated bibliography contains citations on a wide range of campus planning and facility development issues. Designed to provide a resource for anyone
involved in campus planning this book contains information on works by more than 1,100 authors. It includes citations for 800 books and 350 articles. The
bibliography is indexed by author, book title, and article title.

"Trends in Campus Housing:
A Critical Component When Planning Your Campus' Learning Environment"
It is no longer enough for a college or university simply to provide students with four walls and a bed. Students, parents, administrators, and public officials are
demanding more from the campus living environment. Campus planning and design administrators, along with housing and residence life professionals, must be prepared
to identify, analyze, and produce solutions that respond to the changing economic, demographic, and technological changes that face higher education.

Note that it is updated regularly when classes are in session but may get a bit out of date at other times during the year.

Officers–International (ACUHO-I) is a multi-phased initiative leading to the construction of a new, state-of-the-art residential facility for colleges and universities.
In addition to creating one or more prototype residential facilities on several campuses, the project will assist colleges and universities in designing new residential
facilities that reflect the ever-changing roles that residences play in the collegiate experience."

The Chronicle of Higher Education publishes an excellent annual feature on architecture and higher education. In addition to useful articles,
this online feature includes a searchable database including hundreds of recent construction projects on campuses.
