Who Should Attend
The institute is intended for individuals or teams who want to learn more about forging sustainable planning/assessment linkages. This workshop also will be particularly useful
for individuals who will be engaged in accreditation self-studies or who are seeking an expanded version of Step I of the SCUP Planning Institute.
Benefits of Attendance
Middle States Commission on Higher Education's accreditation standards explicitly call for the use of assessment results in planning and institutional renewal. This institute
will provide participants with an understanding of the fundamentals of integrated higher education planning and assessment processes, emphasizing institutional effectiveness
and educational effectiveness components. Participants will:
- review the fundamentals of planning and assessment
- explore establishment of appropriate linkages among mission, plans, assessment, and resource allocation
- learn about the benefits of sustained and systematic planning and assessment processes
- focus on institutional improvement using case studies illustrating good/best practices and pitfalls to avoid
- network with other participants and with faculty during informal evening discussions
- learn from actual case studies and group exercises
Participants in this institute also will satisfy requirements for Step I of the Society for College and University Planning's three-step planning institute. Individuals
who also take Steps II and III will receive a certificate of completion.
