Campus Sustainability Day 2004 (CSD.2)
What Works & What's New? Two no-travel events

In October 2003, SCUP brought about the first annual Campus Sustainability Day. Students, faculty, and staff at more than 100 higher education institutions enjoyed a SCUP "no-travel" presentation as part of their campus' special day to focus on understanding and implementing sustainability on campus. Any day in October that you choose is your campus' Campus Sustainability Day, but we hope you'll choose one or both of our dates.:

How can you choose which of the SCUP no-travel events to register for? Well, you don't have to choose. You can select to register for both. Or, you can license the one that works best for your campus, based on either the topical focus or the timing. Note that these broadcasts will also serve well as additions to your pertinent curriculum. Be sure to tell those on your campus who are teaching related classes in the fall term. Registration will open soon, but to be sure that we alert you when it opens, send a message to us at csd@scup.org.

In addition to the live, interactive broadcasts planned for October 2004, SCUP's library of resources on campus sustainability includes: the book, Sustainability: Taking the Long View; videotapes of our October 2004 telecast; CDs of our recent webcast; and our Sustainability Knowledge Community (email discussion list), which is open to anyone with an interest in sustainability and higher education. Sustainability issues are often the topic of presentation at SCUP's several regional and annual, international conference - all of which can be found at SCUP's Calendar.

AIA Members and Continuing Education Opportunity:
SCUP is a registered provider of continuing education units for the American Institute of Architects. If you are eligible to earn continuing education units from AIA, sign the AIA report form that will be sent to each listening site in advance of the program, and fax it back to the SCUP office. SCUP will submit completed session forms to AIA for you. This webcast offers 2 hours of continuing education units. Anyone attending the broadcast may request a certificate as a record of his or her attendance.

APA Continuing Education Credits
The Florida Chapter of the American Planning Association has approved this SCUP Campus Sustainability Day "no-travel" event continuing education credits for Florida planners who are members of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). All AICP planners in the State of Florida will be able to obtain Continuing Professional Development Program credits for this SCUP forum. AICP members in other states should contact their state chapter's Professional Development Officer to obtain credit approval. Contact the SCUP office, profdev@scup.org, to be sent the appropriate forms for completion.
