Here's what current graduates had to say:

"Finishing all three steps of the institute and receiving the certificate means a lot to me...attending all three [steps of the institute] was among the most rewarding activities in which I have participated [during] my career. All of the instructors did superb jobs, the materials distributed were first class, and the discussions with the other attendees were invaluable."

—Neal E. Armstrong
Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs
Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost
The University of Texas at Austin

"I am very proud of the certificate I received after completing the three steps. The instructors helped us see the value in planning from many different perspectives. I had fun with the case studies and everyone came away with some valuable lessons. We all found some connection in the lectures to our home institution or place of employment."

The SCUP Planning Institute represents a unique merging of the knowledge of experts in planning with a dedication to using assessment to continuously enhance the workshop’s outcomes for participants. Institute faculty members are drawn from across the country and world and from all types of institutions. They facilitate learning through engaging exercises, small group work, and analysis of the SCUP Walnut College case study.

Beginning in July 2009, the steps of the planning institute must be taken in sequence. Each step is prerequisite for the following step.
