SCUP's 43rd annual, international conference and idea marketplace in Montreal – This annual conference has a substantial percentage of sessions wherein professionals discuss planning and other matters that affect universities, colleges, and their communities.

Compact Current – The newsletter of Campus Compact is published quarterly and fully available on line.
The Chronicle of Higher Education - The weekly newspaper of record for higher education, which has a comprehensive website. Much of its content is accessible by registration only, although some requires purchase of a subscription or a temporary pass.

The Greentree Gazette – This monthly magazine is focused on financial issues in higher education. Some of its articles address community relations or public-private partnerships and the like. Some of its content is available on line, but most is not.

Inside Higher Education – This online-only news source for higher education often has pertinent articles available. It is open and free to all.

University Business – This monthly magazine has all of its content available on line and additional web-only features. There is a consistent stream of town-gown-related articles in UB.

Campus Compact: Educating Citizens. Building Communities. – "Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than 1,100 college and university presidents — representing some 6 million students — dedicated to promoting community service, civic engagement, and service-learning in higher education." It has a set of nice, free resources on line as well as a series of for-sale publications.
Town & Gown Network – This organization grew out of a conference in Boulder, CO in 2006, then it had a conference in Gainesville, FL in 2007, and is holding its 2008 conference in College Station, TX. The website, which is quite new and just beginning to grow, includes articles and discussion forums.
Town and Gown Association of Ongario (TGAO) – "TGAO is dedicated to improving the quality of life in those municipalities that host post secondary institutions by promoting and supporting activities that ensure cohesive communities that are safe, healthy and enjoyable." It has more than 60 members, including some from the United States.
