Projects for Student Affairs That Pay for Themselves

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is hosting a one-day symposium that will look at the challenges facing colleges and universities to provide services for increasing enrollments during times of economic uncertainty. Given the lack of public funding for capital projects, the recent trend is to focus on projects that are self-supporting such as residence halls, student centers, dining facilities, recreation/fitness centers, and parking structures. This exciting and timely discussion will consider how higher education institutions across the Carolinas are planning to prepare for the increasing demand by students for services and entertainment. It will also look at how public-private partnerships are being developed on some campuses and the choices being made whether to build new or renovate existing buildings.
