Discover NEW MODELS (of Integrated Planning)
Please plan to join your colleagues in Hollywood to explore New Models of Integrated Planning (e.g., Institutional Direction, Academic, Facilities, Resource & Budget Planning, etc.). This is going to be a great, high-energy, high-value conference. We seek quality proposals from educational institutions and their partners for inclusion in the conference program. We are especially interested in:
Campus examples of effective integrated planning—academic, financial, operational and physical
A recent project that demonstrates new approaches to planning
An innovative approach to addressing planning challenges
Experience in partnering across disciplines or with other outside entities for improved outcomes,
A new process that is replicable and scalable,
Innovations in new project/program delivery methods,
Projects that demonstrate effective change management,
Creative approaches and solutions to long-standing challenges,
Lessons learned from both successful and challenging planning processes,
… or other examples of implementation of creative approaches to problem solving using integrated planning methods that may be of interest to your colleagues.
Guidelines for Proposals
Proposals are being accepted for concurrent sessions, and half-day workshops, or for other creative proposals that may require an extended period of time.
Concurrent sessions will last 60 minutes. They should include no more than 50 minutes of presentation followed by 10 minutes for questions. To improve the chances that your proposal will be accepted for inclusion, please consider the following:
Presentation proposals that reflect issues and influences related to the conference theme are preferred. Proposals should clearly outline the presentation’s subject and content, exhibit research and analysis of the subjects, and describe how the topic applies to the conference theme. Target audience, delivery medium, and learning outcomes should be described. Proposals should demonstrate how presenters will engage the audience attendees for improved participation.
Sessions should include one to three presenters and meaningful involvement by institutional representatives is encouraged but not required for these sessions. You must confirm the commitment of all speakers listed in your proposal to active participation in planning and presenting.
Presentations should be relevant to current and future institutional planning parameters and should be inclusive of the many different types of planning that take place in an integrated fashion at college and universities. High quality presentations that address key issues facing institutions now and in the future will be considered. Selection committee members seek presentations that are creative, fun, useful, informative, and that provide opportunities for active engagement of attendees.
Workshop sessions are 3.5 hours in length (which includes 30 minutes for breaks) and present an opportunity for in-depth treatment of a particular subject of interest. Typically, workshops include a combination of presentation, dialogue, and hands-on learning experiences. Workshop presenters are considered experts in the subject area and expected to provide handout materials to attendees. Workshop enrollments are limited in size to facilitate interaction and discussion.
