Driving Directions

Once at the US Air Force Academy campus, visitors must enter through the North Gate (accessible from Exit 156B on Interstate 25, 14 miles north of downtown Colorado Springs), which opens at 7:00 AM.

  1. Exit I-25, drive west on Northgate Blvd
  2. Stop at gate, show driver’s license. Ensure all vehicle occupants have a valid ID.
  3. Proceed west on Northgate Blvd in right lane until the four lane parkway turns into two lanes.
  4. Continue west on the two lane road. At the top of the hill, the Cadet Area will be on the left.
  5. The two lane road turns south at the foothills. Continue to Cadet Drive at the top of the next hill.

Parking

IMPORTANT! Parking—though limited—is available in the visitor lot (marked green on map) at no charge. SCUP highly encourages carpooling to this event. Overflow parking is available at the Visitor Center (denoted as "alternate parking" on map), but it is a long walk from the conference facilities.

Weather

The elevation of the Cadet Area is 7000 feet. Weather in May can be volatile—80 degrees or blizzard. Bring warm clothing and comfortable shoes for the tours, as there is extensive walking involved and the weather may be cold. (local weather)
