Scripps College Campus Tour
Take a nice strolling tour of the Scripps College campus, frequently described as one of America's most beautiful college campuses and rated by Forbes magazine as the fourth most beautiful campus in the world! Renowned Architect, Gordon Kaufman and Landscape Architect, Edward Huntsman-Trout worked seamlessly as a design team to create a connection between the buildings and the grounds to create this beautiful, residential scale campus. Founded in 1926 by Ellen Browning Scripps and the second oldest of the undergraduate institutions in Claremont, the campus is listed on the National Register of Historic places. Join Lola Trafecanty, Director of Grounds at Scripps College for a 45-50 minute walking tour of Scripps, The Women’s College at The Claremont Colleges.

Pomona College New LEED Platinum Residence Hall
Take a tour of the newest residence hall at Pomona College, the founding member of The Claremont Colleges. This LEED Platinum building was completed in February 2011 and is just a short walk from the symposium location. Designed by Ehrlich Architects, some of the highlights of the 150 beds with 3 faculty apartments building include: Suites with 3, 4, and 6 bedrooms with full size beds; a lounge/kitchen per floor for cooking and social activities; computer study areas, bike storage room, outdoor education center, third floor terrace, rooftop classroom and garden. Underground parking garage with 170 spaces and a natural turf field on top. Some LEED highlights: 80 kw PV power- 14% building load; 2,200 gal solar hot water- 80% building load; low water use fixtures and landscaping; all rainwater sent to retention basin in The Wash to recharge aquifer. Join Bob Robinson, Asst. Vice President for Facilities and Campus Services at Pomona College on this 45-50 minute walking tour of new Sontag Residence Hall.

The Claremont Colleges Tour
Take a tour, on one of two shuttle buses, of The Claremont Colleges, home to five of the top fifty liberal arts colleges in the US. Seven of the eight member institutions [the five undergraduate colleges, the two graduate only institutions and Claremont University Consortium (CUC)] are contiguously located on 375 acres in the City of Claremont. Each of the Colleges has its own unique campus architecture and landscaping while sharing many boundaries, streets and sidewalks with the other Colleges of the consortium. The tour will also include the newest institution of the Claremont consortium, Keck Graduate Institute founded in 1997, located less than a mile from the main campus as well as the 245 acres of vacant land for future colleges and development. Join Chris Martin or Tim Morrison who will lead these 45-50 minute tours of The Claremont Colleges. This tour is limited to 50 participants.
