Participation of institutional members at the SCUP regional conferences is a high priority for the SCUP Pacific Region. The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) Pacific Council recognizes the financial hardships experienced by institutions of higher education in the current fiscal environment. In order to provide support to members interested in continuing their professional training and development and to promote participation in regional activities, the Pacific Council has set aside scholarship funds to defray the cost of attending the SCUP Pacific Regional Conference to be held April 5-7, 2010, in La Jolla, CA. This is a pilot project authorized by the SCUP Board of Directors. Award A limited number of $500 scholarships, with a maximum of one scholarship per institution, will be awarded. Preference will be given to SCUP Pacific Region members. Application/Criteria To be eligible for the SCUP Pacific Regional Scholarship, applicants must demonstrate/provide the following:
Optional: A brief statement of support by the institution, such as a supervisor (one paragraph). Timeline Applications will be accepted through January 22, 2010. Scholarship applicants will be notified of award status by February 1, 2010. Application Review and Award Process The SCUP Pacific Regional Council will review applications and provide recommendations (ranked based on application criteria). Award recipients may elect whether to (1) receive the awards directly or (2) have them paid to their institution/employer, and whether or not to use some of the funds as a waiver of the conference registration fee.
