Long Beach Highlights

There is plenty to see and do in Long Beach. Visit the Aquarium of the Pacific or the historic Queen Mary, and walk through the lively downtown area or the colorful east village. Find everything from casual cafes to romantic restaurants in Long Beach. Adventurous appetites won't want to miss the "restaurant row" of Long Beach. Located on Pine Avenue, this hip collection of fare can't be found anywhere else. Here, award-winning restaurants serve patrons everything from spicy Latin cuisine to savory selections from Italy, Greece, Japan and more. When you're finished soaking up the Long Beach sun, soak up some culture at two exciting museums. The bluff top Long Beach Museum of Art showcases art on the walls of a historic Craftsman mansion, complete with a cafe, museum store, and spectacular view of the Pacific. Add some spice with a visit to the Museum of Latin American Art, where powerful pieces fill the halls. Enjoy the clean Pacific Ocean air as you walk, run, bike, or blade on the 5 1/2 miles of smooth pavement on the bike path that spans the beach. Follow the path South to Belmont Shore / Alamitos Bay or North to Shoreline Village. At either location, you can rent jet skis, kayaks, boats, windsurfing equipment and more for a memorable afternoon afloat.

Getting around Long Beach is easy! Take advantage of the city's bright red Passport Shuttle, a "free" transportation system that offers service to major Long Beach attractions. The new Purple Pine Avenue Link is also a "free" service from downtown to the Convention Center, Shoreline Village, and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Or, let the Passport Tour D'Art whisk you quickly to downtown's cultural spots. You can even hail a water taxi, the Aquabus, that transports visitors to the Queen Mary, Shoreline Village, and the Aquarium of the Pacific. Don't forget to take a trip on the Aqualink, a service to the Queen Mary, Alamitos Bay Landing and the Aquarium of the Pacific.
