Location

Conference activities, unless otherwise indicated in the program, will be held at McGill University, Leacock Building (campus map) and Concordia University, John Molson School of Business (campus map).

Important Travel Tips

• Passports: A valid passport is required to travel to Canada. If you don't have a valid passport, we encourage you to renew or apply as soon as possible. Processing times can be long.
• Customs: Attendees at Customs should indicate they are "attending a conference" rather than working or doing business. Here are additional helpful tips for visiting Canada.
• Currency Exchange: The currency exchange counter at the Montréal airport is located in the baggage area and operates between 6:00 AM and 1:00 AM. (current exchange rate)
• Cell/Data Service: Cell phone roaming charges in Canada can be very expensive. We encourage you to consult with your cell service provider regarding the costs you might incur while using your phone to make calls or use data while in Montréal. Some providers offer short-term international plans.
• Discount Airline: Porter Airlines offers greatly discounted airline tickets to Montréal from select cities. Check fares from your city.

Taxi fares to downtown Montréal are a flat $40 CAD fee. Taxis accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Some drivers accept U.S. currency but provincial regulations require customers to pay in Canadian currency.

Bus Between Airport and Downtown
The 747 bus line service runs 24/7 between the Montréal-Trudeau airport and the central bus station (Gare d'autocars de Montréal - Berri-UQAM métro station). The bus picks up directly outside the airport. Travel time between the airport and downtown is 45-60 minutes. Fares are $8 CAD for unlimited travel throughout STM bus and métro networks during a 24-hour period. Fare cards can be purchased at the International Currency Exchange (ICE) counter on the international arrivals level or from the automated dispensers on the same level. Fares can also be paid in cash with exact change on the bus—coins only, no bills.

Please note the 747 bus does not stop directly at any of the conference hotels. The closest drop-off for Le Méridien Versailles and Chateau Versailles is stop #2 (René Lévesque between Guy and Bishop). The closest drop-off for for the Holiday Inn is stop #6 or #7 (René Lévesque at Union or Jeanne-Mance).

Travel Between Hotels and Conference Activities

Wednesday and Friday conference activities will be held at Concordia University at the John Molson School of Business (map).

• From Le Méridien Versailles and Chateau Versailles: 5-minute walk
• From Holiday Inn: Board the 24-O bus at the Hutchison stop. Exit at the Côte-des-Neiges stop and walk to the John Molson Building. Or take the green line from Place-des-Arts to Guy-Concordia. 

Thursday conference activities will be held at McGill University in the Leacock Building (map).

• From Holiday Inn: 10- to 15-minute walk
• From Le Méridien Versailles / Chateau Versailles: Board the 24-E bus at the Saint-Mathieu stop. Exit at the Peel stop and walk to the Leacock Building.

McGill University
Parking is available at the Ferrier Building (840 Av. du Docteur-Penfield, map). Rates are $3.50 CAD per 30 minutes, $18 CAD daily maximum.

Concordia University
Parking is available at the Faubourg Tower (1250 Guy, map). Rates are $8.75 CAD per hour for entry before 8:30 AM, $12.75 CAD daily maximum. Additional parking is available a few blocks away at the Library Building (1436 Mackay, map). Rates are $5.25 CAD per hour, $12.75 CAD daily maximum.
