Transformation for Excellence: Outcomes From Integrated Planning

As defined by SCUP, “Integrated Planning is the linking of vision, priorities, people, and the physical institution, in a flexible system of evaluation, decision-making and action to shape and guide the entire organization as it evolves over time within and without its community. ”

Integrated planning is a noble and simple concept, but even though it that has been around for over 50 years, not every institution has been able to embrace it and practically put it in action. Does integrated planning really work? Are its ideals of linking strategic, academic, facilities, financial, technology, and human resource planning just “pie in the sky” or something that still is workable and has relevance in 2011.

Why Join Us at Keene State College?
Join us as we explore these questions and concepts at Keene State College, arguably one of the best practitioners of integrated planning in our region and the country. In fact, Keene State College’s strategic plan is grounded by commitments to academic excellence, student success, institutional effectiveness, and contributing to regional vitality. The college integrates its functional processes—academic, technology, human resources, facilities, and budget plans—to implement its strategic plan.

Outcomes of the Conference
This regional one-day conference will include presentations, tours, and interactive conversations with the college’s president, key administrators, staff, and students. Attendees will gain a better understanding of integrated planning by reviewing Keene State College’s processes, hearing about their lessons learned, understanding their successes and challenges, and seeing, firsthand, the outcomes and effects of this institution’s integrated planning approach.
