Faculty
Academic Planning Faculty
Heather Kelly is assistant director of institutional research and planning at the University of Delaware. Kelly also serves as a member of the University of Delaware’s Educational Assessment Council. She has been with the University of Delaware for nine years. Her areas of expertise are institutional effectiveness and faculty workload. She has published two book chapters on the latter topic. Kelly recently co–presented a seminar entitled Establishing Appropriate Performance Measures in Higher Education at MECESUP2 for the Chilean government’s Ministry of Education. Kelly is currently the treasurer for the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and is facilitating a strategic planning process for the North East Association for Institutional Research (NEAIR).
Nicholas R. Santilli is associate academic vice president for planning and assessment for John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. Santilli has been a member of the John Carroll University community for 18 years first as a member of the faculty of the psychology department and now a member of the administration. As chair of the psychology department, Santillik stewarded the departments first strategic planning process, initiated the formation of the departments student learning outcomes assessment program, and served as the departments representative to the capital planning committee for the Dolan Center for Science and Technology. His duties now blend work on institutional strategic planning, assessment of student learning, and campus budget process.
Campus and Facilities Planning Faculty
John Ruffo is a partner at WRNS Studio, LLP, and an at-large SCUP board member. He is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects, and a founding fellow of the American College of Healthcare Architects. Ruffo brings 30 years of experience in the fields of design and campus planning to the institute.
Nancy Tinker serves as the director of facilities management and planning at Eastern Connecticut State University. She is in charge of planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of all facilities. She began her career in facilities engineering at IBM and has also served in varying capacities with the Connecticut State University System, the Ohio State University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Budget and Resource Planning Faculty
Anna Martin has served as the vice president for administration at the College of William and Mary since January 2001. Prior to joining the college, Martin served as principal deputy to the under secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, who is the chief operating officer with responsibility for all administrative, financial, and business activities of the Smithsonian, a major public museum and research complex.
Carole Wharton has more than 30 years of consulting, teaching, and management experience in public and private colleges and universities, government, museums, and professional associations. She was the president of SCUP in 2004–2005. She served for two terms as a member of the Emory & Henry College governing board. Presently, Wharton is president of L. Carole Wharton, LLC.
