Name:Professional Development Committee Member
Description:Overview: To lead the organization's development of the technical skills and professional knowledge of current and potential members and partners in support of the society's vision of integrated planning. This SCUP standing committee has 10-13 members from various types of membership categories. Responsibilities: There are two major meetings of the SCUP Professional Development Committee (PDC) each year--the Joint Committee Meeting in February (paid by SCUP) and our annual meeting at the SCUP annual conference in July (out of pocket). Conference calls are scheduled every two months. It is expected that committee members will attend both meetings and participate in the majority of the conference calls. Each PDC member participates in the review and selection of workshops for the annual conference. This task occurs each year in early October when they are asked to review approximately 8-10 submissions. Additionally, PDC members provide support to the workshop presenters by acting as a 'coach' in preparation for the workshops, and functioning as a convener at their assigned workshop at the annual conference.
