Volunteering at SCUP

Looking for ways to get more involved with SCUP?

You don't have to serve on the board or a committee to be considered a member leader at SCUP. If time is short but you really want to contribute, consider the following ideas:

• Present at a workshop or concurrent session at the annual, international conference or at a regional conference or one-day event.
• Apply to become a member of one of SCUP's four planning academies: Institutional Direction Planning, Academic Planning, Facility Planning, and Resource and Budget Planning. Academy members agree to review and evaluate proposals for the annual, international conference and have other opportunities to contribute to SCUP's base of planning knowledge. Academy members receive reviewer training.
• Serve as a convener for a concurrent session at either the annual, international conference or at a regional conference or one-day event. Conveners open and close conference sessions, introduce presenters, moderate question-and-answer periods at the end of sessions, collect evaluation forms and presentation materials from presenters for later inclusion on a CD. They help conferences run smoothly and professionally.
• Offer to help at your regional conference.
• Author an article and submit it to Planning for Higher Education (PHE), our quarterly, peer-reviewed journal.
• Serve on the journal's Editorial Review Board.
• Become a member of one of SCUP's many committees and task forces.
