​Kyle Slocum, principal and landscape architect with The S/L/A/M Collaborative in Glastonbury, CT, was principal-in-charge of a project at the Emory University School of Medicine that won the Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects 2011 Design Award for Landscape Architectural Design – Corporate/​Institutional.

Karen Fiene, campus architect with Mills College in Oakland, CA, has been named a 2012 American Institute of Architects Fellow.

Jane Hendricks, principal with SRG Partnership in Seattle, WA, has been named a 2012 American Institute of Architects Fellow.

Scott Kelsey, managing principal of CO Architects in Los Angeles, CA, has been named a 2012 American Institute of Architects Fellow.

Nancy Rogo Trainer, principal with Venturi, Scott Brown and Associates in Philadelphia, PA, has been named a 2012 American Institute of Architects Fellow.

William Wilson, principal with Wilson Architects, Inc., in Boston, MA, has been named a 2012 American Institute of Architects Fellow.

Barbara Chance, president and CEO of CHANCE Management Advisors, Inc., in Philadelphia, PA, was selected as the 2011 Parking Professional of the Year by the International Parking Institute.

Clinton Hewitt, professor emeritus with the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, was named a 2011 American Society of Landscape Architects Fellow.

Carol Macht, principal with Hord Coplan Macht, Inc., in Baltimore, MD, was named a 2011 American Society of Landscape Architects Fellow.

David Hollowell, executive vice president and treasurer emeritus at the University of Delaware, has been appointed to the Board of Overseers of Boston University.

Donald C. Buenger, principal with Urban Design Group, Inc., has been selected as member of the Real Estate Group of Atlanta.

Robert Nalls, president of Nalls Architecture, Inc., in Narbeth, PA, was awarded the 2010-2011 Laura S. Campbell Award for Teaching Excellence by Drexel University.

Karen Anne Boyd has been named major projects planner in the office of facilities at Yale University, New Haven, CT.

Jay Kahn will become interim president of Keene State College, Keene, NH, in July 2012.

Helen Giles-Gee will become president of University of the Sciences, Philadelphia, PA, in July 2012.

Lisa Hellmuth has been promoted to associate with Wilson Architects, Boston, MA.

Linda Schoonmaker has been named vice president for finance with Clover Park Technical College, Lakewood, WA.

​Susan Whitmer, strategic education consultant with Herman Miller, Inc., in Live Oak, FL, was interviewed in The Atlantic (December 2011) on the challenges of creating physical and virtual spaces that facilitate the learning process in A Conversation with Susan Whitmer, Education Design Expert.

M. Perry Chapman, Jr., 2008 winner of the SCUP Founders' Award, ​AICP Fellow, author, and a retired principal of Sasaki Associates, Inc., died on December 8, 2011, in Belmont, MA.
