CollaborationsSCUP collaborates with many associations, foundations, and non-profit organizations on a variety of events, publications, and webcasts. Among them:
Member Connections: Member connections to various associations remain a valuable resource. In recent years, SCUP members were the top volunteer leaders in three pertinent AIA subgroups: the Committee on Architecture for Education (CAE), Committee on the Environment (COTE), and Historic Resources Committee (HRC). The Association of University Architects (AUA) has no formal relationship with SCUP, but its membership is largely made up of SCUP members. Publications: We have published books jointly with: APPA, CEP, NACUBO, and NWF. As well, we have shared journal or magazine articles between SCUP and other organizations. While not directly collaboration per se, SCUP staff has also written articles for publication in such periodicals as The Community College Journal, Dean and Provost newsletter, Campus Technology magazine, EDUCAUSE Quarterly, and University Business magazine. We occasionally share news items with AIR's Electronic AIR. SCUP's book, Transforming Higher Education, was translated into Japanese and published serially in the magazine of that country's equivalent of EDUCAUSE in 2001. Research: We have participated in developing and promoting a number of research surveys over the years, with organizations like the CEP, NWF, and publications such as Building Design and Construction magazine and Connection, the journal of the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE). More recently, the Campus Heritage Preservation Project is funded by the Getty Grant Foundation. It produced a website: http://campusheritage.ning.com. SCUP also has worked with Herman Miller on learning space design surveys. SCUP is a member of these two fine organizations: CHEMA: SCUP has been a member of a coalition of higher education associations called the Council of Higher Education Management Associations (CHEMA) for more than two decades. A list of CHEMA organizations can be found at www.chemanet.org/members.asp. HEASC: Another membership organization to which SCUP belongs, and which it helped to found in 2005, is the Higher Education Associations Consortium for Sustainability (HEASC). A list of HEASC members can be found at www2.aashe.org/heasc/about.php. Contact us at info@scup.org if your organization is interested collaborating with SCUP on a project of interest to our members. |
