Washington, DC is home to six major colleges and universities with many others having a visible presence through satellite campuses in the city. SCUP’s Mid-Atlantic conference will be held at the Georgetown University Hotel and Conference Center on the campus of Georgetown University. The historic Georgetown neighborhood features specialty stores and unique restaurants within walking distance from the campus.

The conference will be held in the spring when our Nation’s Capital is at its finest with the cherry blossoms in bloom around the Tidal Basin encircling the memorials. The National Cherry Blossom Parade and Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2003, the day before the conference begins. The parade starts at 9:30 am and the festival begins at noon. Admission to both events is free. Plan to arrive early and participate in the festivities.
