SCUP-48 Poster Forums Call for Proposals

Poster Forums—spark spontaneous discussion with informative displays.

Posters are displayed in The Corner and, during select hours, poster presenters discuss their topics with The Corner attendees.

We seek proposals for posters that...

• feature an innovative response to a planning challenge.
• grab attention.
• encourage dialog.
• tell a story.
• can be understood without a presenter's explanation.
• can be summarized in 140 characters (the length of a tweet).

All poster presenters must agree to register and pay the registration fee for either a one-day or full conference registration.

Poster Forums Proposal Guidelines and Submission Requirements

Proposals must be submitted online through SCUP's website. You will be asked to respond to the following items. Prepare well-developed and thorough responses to optimize the scoring of your proposal.

Below are the questions you will be asked on the online submission form. Use them now to help you consider your responses for your online submission.

1.  Poster Title: Title of your poster (60-character maximum).

2.  Identification of Poster Presenters (limit of two): Full contact information including name, title, address, telephone, fax, and email address.

3.  Biography: Bio for each presenter (150-word maximum)

4.  Challenge: Provide a brief abstract describing the planning challenge you faced (40-word maximum). Note: This is the session description that SCUP will publish.

5.  Take-away: What can others learn from your experience (20 words)

6.  Key Terms: Choose 3 keywords pertaining to your content from a list that will be provided,

Use of Poster Images
Following the conference, images of posters will be posted on the SCUP website for conference attendees and SCUP members to view and download. By participating as a poster session presenter, you agree to provide SCUP with a digital copy of your poster or a version we can post for your session’s proceedings.

How Proposals Are Reviewed 
Members spanning SCUP's planning academies—including academic planning, resource and budget planning, facilities planning, and institutional direction—review proposals. Proposals are reviewed on your responses to the above criteria. Space availability and presenter mix may also be considered.

Confirmation of Receipt
SCUP sends out an automatic response to all presenters when a proposal is submitted and received. If you do not receive a notice of receipt within 30 minutes after you submit your proposal, your proposal was not received and you should contact SCUP's professional development staff at 734.764.2001 or 734.764.2008.
