Attire

Dress for the conference is business casual, i.e., shirts and slacks for men and shirts/blouses and pants/skirts for ladies. Comfortable shoes are recommended. Casual dress and comfortable walking shoes are recommended for tour participation.

Meeting rooms tend to be a bit cool, so a light sweater is advisable.

Campus Tours

If you preregistered for tours or other events, your tickets are included in your registration packet. Consult the SCUP staff at the registration desk about availability to purchase additional event tickets. The departure location for tours is the main entrance lobby of the West Tower at the Hyatt, but please refer to your ticket. Please arrive for your tour 15 minutes prior to departure time.

SCUP has arranged for options to be available during meals for those who have indicated special dietary needs on their registration form. Please contact a SCUP staff member if you need additional assistance.

Dine Around

Here’s an opportunity for you to informally meet and relax with fellow conference attendees—and enjoy a good meal! SCUP has made dinner reservations at a variety of restaurants on Monday and Tuesday. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the restaurant and for purchasing their own food and beverages during the evening. For more information, visit the sign-up board in the Grand Foyer near registration beginning on Friday, July 6.

New Member and First-Time Attendee Welcome Event

Meet other new members and first-time attendees of a SCUP annual conference (which includes nonmembers) during this rousing, one-hour event. Enjoy freshly popped popcorn and a SCUP trivia challenge, while you network and have fun. Meet members of the SCUP board and the membership committee. Door prizes will be awarded but you must be present to win. Join us Sunday, July 8, 3:00 PM–4:00 PM, in Plaza Ballroom on the Green Level.

Photography Waiver

No photos may be taken by conference attendees, exhibitors, or sponsors during workshops, concurrent sessions, and plenary speeches without prior permission from SCUP. Photos may be taken during social events. Some tours may limit the taking of photographs. During the conference, a professional photographer and SCUP staff will be taking photos of events to be used later for archival and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify the registration desk in advance or notify the photographer that you decline to be photographed.

Printing & Copying

The Hyatt Regency Chicago’s Business Center offers a complete range of services, including copying and faxing, limited office supplies, internet access, computer and office equipment rentals, and shipping/mail services. The business center is open 6:00 AM–7:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and 7:00 AM–6:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday. The Business Center is located in the East Tower on the Bronze Level. QR Codes

SCUP is introducing the use of QR codes for session evaluations and recording attendance for continuing education credits. Each educational session will have a unique QR code—a two-dimensional barcode that is scannable with your smartphone or tablet using a QR scanner. Once scanned, the reader will open a website for that session. If you don’t have a barcode reader app installed, visit your app store and download a free QR code scanner (search for QR Scanner) to your phone:

iPhone: Go to your Apple Store Apps
Android: Go to your Android Market
Blackberry: Go to your browser
Any smart device: www.i-nigma.mobi

Once installed, click on the app to start using it and hold your phone/tablet in front of the code (like you are taking a picture). The application will scan the code and redirect you to the predetermined link. Paper forms will also be available for all sessions. NASBA CEUs require use of paper sign-in/out form.

Registration is located in the Grand Foyer on the Gold Level of the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Pre-registered attendees may pick up their badge and registration materials at the registration counters. Attendees who did not pre-register may register onsite.
