Values and Vision
Create the Future

July 18–22, 2009   Portland, OR (USA)

Attendees' Corner

We are thrilled that you will be joining us in Portland for "Values and Vision Create the Future."

Here is some information that may be useful to you as you plan your arrival:

Conference Location:
All educational programs will take place at the Oregon Convention Center. The Saturday SCUP Connection reception will take place at the Hilton Hotel and Executive Tower.

Transportation to the Convention Center:
Take the LRT (light rail) complimentary to the convention center and all points within “fareless square”. Board the red or blue line at Pioneer Courthouse Square South Station located two blocks from the Hilton and Marriott Hotels. Trains run approximately every 7 minutes during peak hours. Your trip to the convention center will take approximately 15 minutes. Download a pdf map of the hotels, train route, and convention center here.

Weather:
Portland summers tend to be in the mid 70’s F with lows in the upper 50’s F. Check with www.weather.com for the forecast. While inside attending the great sessions and plenaries, you may wish to pack a light sweater or jacket for the occasionally cool meeting room.

Arriving at the Airport:
It is highly recommended to take the red line train to/from the airport to Pioneer Courthouse Square. The Hilton and Marriott are two block walks from the square. Train fare is $2.30 and will take you approximately 40 minutes.

Dress Code:
Business casual at the conference. Casual for tours.

Enjoy All Portland Has to Offer!
In addition to the tours being offered through the SCUP conference, there is much to see and do while you are in Portland.

Don't Dine Alone!
Sign-up to informally meet and relax with fellow conference attendees and enjoy good food at one of the Dine Around locations.

SCUP has made dinner reservations at a variety of restaurants for Monday, July 20 and Tuesday, July 21. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the restaurant and for purchasing their own food and beverages during the evening. Make your plans today!
