2012 SCUP Excellence Awards Jurors
The following individuals will serve as jurors for the 2012 SCUP excellence awards program. Jurors are selected for their planning and design expertise from institutions and firms around the country.

Carl Elefante
2012 Jury Chair
Carl Elefante, FAIA, LEED AP, is Quinn Evans Architects' director of sustainable design and a principal in their Washington, DC office. He has built an extensive body of work that has defined and shaped the field of sustainable preservation by blending historic preservation with sustainable design practices. He is a strong proponent of collaboration, is an advocate for broad thinking within the green building movement, and volunteers on national advisory committees. He served as a SCUP juror in 2010 and 2011. |

Cathy Blake
2012 Juror
Cathy Blake, ASLA LEED AP, is the associate director of the Stanford University campus planning and design office. She has 30 years of experience in landscape architecture as a partner in an international firm and now at the university. At Stanford she is the university landscape architect, manager of the planning and design team and manager of the campus infrastructure program budget. She sets direction for the landscape design and character of the campus through specific writings, designs and implementation, building and site guidelines, and campus standards. Cathy is chair of the Campus Planning and Design Professional Practice Network for the American Society of Landscape Architects. This is her first year serving as a SCUP juror. |

Collette Creppell
2012 Juror
Collette Creppell, AIA LEED AP, is the university architect and director of campus planning at Tulane University, a position she has held before and in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. She served previously as the executive director of the City Planning Commission for the City of New Orleans. A designer and urban planner, she also spent many years directing her own architectural firm, teaching as a clinical and adjunct assistant professor, and lectures frequently. This is her second year serving as a SCUP juror. |

Michael Crosbie
2012 Juror
Michael J. Crosbie, Ph.D., AIA, is associate professor and chair of the department of architecture at the University of Hartford. He has served as an editor at Architecture: The AIA Journal, Progressive Architecture, ArchitectureWeek.com, and since 2001 he has served as editor-in-chief of Faith & Form, a quarterly journal on interfaith religious art and architecture. He has authored more than 20 books and hundreds of articles on architecture, design, and practice. His architectural criticism has appeared in more than 40 different periodicals. He is also a registered architect. This is his first year serving as a SCUP juror. |

James Goblirsch

James Goblirsch, AIA, LEED AP is a vice president at HGA Architects and Engineers specializing in arts, community, and higher education with an emphasis on innovative learning spaces for colleges and universities. He has over 20 years experience. This is his first year serving as a SCUP juror. |

David Hollenberg
2012 Juror
David Hollenberg, R.A, AIA is the university architect at the University of Pennsylvania where he oversees design of the physical development and preservation of the campus. He has also taught in the School of Design for 20 years, in the Historic Preservation Department. He previously worked for the National Park Service for 14 years and was responsible for all major programs and services affecting structures in the northeast region. He also worked with the architecture and historic preservation firm of John Milner Associates for over 25 years. This is his first year serving as a SCUP juror. |

Victor Sidy
2012 Juror
Victor E. Sidy, AIA, LEED AP is dean of the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture at Taliesin West in Scottsdale, AZ. He previously had his own architectural firm. His work has appeared and been in the New York Times, Interiors Magazine, Blueprint Magazine, CNN International, and other. He received his architectural training from the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and received the Flinn Foundation and Robert C. Byrd Scholarships. He has worked with artists, architects and planners in Russia, Germany, the Netherlands and the US. |
