Audrain has over 40 years of experience in the management of facilities for universities and museums. Early in his career Audrain worked in the planning offices of Stanford University and the University of Pennsylvania. He then worked for the University of Chicago for 17 years, where he was the Director of the Office of Physical Planning and Construction. As vice president of operations at The Art Institute of Chicago from 1983-2003, Audrain was responsible for the development, interpretation, and implementation of the institute’s plans, policies, and procedures for capital improvements, building operations and maintenance, protection services, visitor services, real estate operations, space management and energy conservation. He earned a master’s degree in city planning from Harvard University Graduate School of Design and a bachelor of architecture degree from Stanford University.
