Please read below for details pertaining to the participation in each of these programs. American Institute of Architects (AIA)What SCUP–44 programs are eligible for AIA continuing education credit? Most SCUP–44 educational programs offer continuing education credit: workshops, concurrent sessions, plenary sessions, and campus tours. Each 60-minute program will be equal to 1 learning unit (LU). Sessions that are 90-minutes long are equal to 1.5 LUs. For workshops, please refer to them individually for their eligible LUs. Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) and Sustainable Design (SD) Credits are available for many educational sessions, plus a few workshops and specialized tours. California Architects looking for California Disability Access education credits can register for the ADA/504 Survival Kit workshop on Saturday, July 19, to earn 3 LUs. How do I report credit for programs I attend at the conference? When you arrive at the conference registration desk, pick up one of the self-report form (Conference Session Participation Form C-1) to keep with you to record which educational programs you attend. Before you depart the conference, return your AIA report form back to the registration desk and hand it to a SCUP staff member. You can also fax the entire form to the SCUP office immediately following the conference at 734.998.6532. SCUP will report your credits back to AIA within two weeks of the conference. Certificates will be mailed to individuals who request them. If you are attending any of the SCUP preconference workshops, you will be able to report your workshop attendance by signing the form in the session room. You need to attend the entire workshop to receive credit for that program. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
AICP members can now earn Certification Maintenance (CM) credits at SCUP-44. SCUP is a new provider of AICP Certification Maintenance (CM) credits. AICP members will be able to earn CM credits for many conference activities.
What SCUP–44 programs are eligible for AIA continuing education credit? The list of approved activities include workshops and concurrent sessions. All 80 approved sessions are listed here, and also appear in the online listing of concurrent sessions for this conference. Each 60-minute program will be equal to 1 CM credit (CM). Sessions that are 90-minutes long are equal to 1.5 CM credits. For workshops, please refer to them individually for their eligible CM credits. At the conference, visit the SCUP–44 registration desk for a list of conference activities that offer CM credits. More information about AICP's CM program can be found at www.planning.org/cm. Workshop and concurrent session conveners will have a sign-in report roster by the door in session rooms for concurrent sessions, workshops, and plenary sessions for activities that offer CM credits. What SCUP–44 programs are eligible for CPEs? The following SCUP–44 educational programs are eligible for CPEs: preconference workshops, concurrent sessions, and plenary sessions. Each 60-minute program will be equal to 1 CPE credit. Sessions that are 90-minutes long are equal to 1.5 CPEs.
How do I report credit for programs I attend at the conference? Each workshop and concurrent session convener will have a sign-in and sign-out report roster by the door in session rooms for concurrent sessions, workshops, and plenary sessions. To receive credit for any of these programs, CPAs are required to sign-in as they enter the session room, and sign-out as they depart. SCUP staff will add up the amount of credit earned by each CPA in each session to ensure the correct amount of credit is awarded. Once the conference is over, certificates will be produced and mailed to each CPA who attended the conference. This will include the total numbers of hours of educational program attendance, and a record of attendance in each of the fields of study. This procedure complies with NASBA's reporting requirements of SCUP. For more information regarding administrative policies such as complaint resolution, please contact SCUP at 734.998.6532. All complaints regarding CPEs will be forwarded to the CPE administrator, Kathleen Benton, Associate Director of Education & Product Development and 734.998.6966, for resolution. The awarding of CPEs for certified public accountants (CPAs) currently applies just to SCUP’s annual, international conference.
