Join a SCUP Knowledge Community!

SCUP's Knowledge Communities exist for any higher education professional who is seeking access to expertise to plan for or manage change in a specific topic area. Anyone may join a SCUP Knowledge Community. SCUP wants the knowledge exchange in each to be as broad as possible so we welcome members and non-members alike.

What Is A SCUP Knowledge Community?

As a member of the knowledge community, you can use state-of-the-art Lyris-based email technology to ask questions of your peers, respond to queries, or share related information. SCUP staff will inform each knowledge community about useful online resources, both from within SCUP and from other sources.

How to Join

Join one of SCUP's knowledge communities today! All SCUP Knowledge Communities utilize Lyris-based email discussion lists which users can tailor to their own communications preferences, including daily digests and the ability to browse and search archived messages through your Web browser.

Join any list by email. To join any of SCUP's knowledge communities, just send a message to "listname-request@umich.edu " (without the quotes and the listname is the name inside brackets, listed below) with the word "subscribe" in the subject line of your message. Be sure to leave the body of the email empty. You should shortly receive a welcome note that tells you how to change your subscription settings, etc.

No Commercial Messages, Please

Note that commercial messages—both promoting products and services and criticizing the people or companies who provide products and services—are not permitted in knowledge community discussions.

Unsubscribing

We've made unsubscribing easy so that you can try out a knowledge community for a short period of time and leave it if you are unsatisfied for any reason. Unsubscribe instructions are at the bottom of every message you'll receive. To unsubscribe, you will be asked to send an email to the knowledge communities' email address [example: scup-sustainability-request@umich.edu] with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject line of your message. This message will only be sent to a SCUP staff member and not shared with the rest of the group.
