Presenter(s): Philip Stack, University of Alberta
Convener: Peter Stazicker, Anshen + Allen Los Angeles

The University of Alberta is a research intensive university with over 31,000 students and annual expenditures of $841 million. In 2000 the university initiated a process to develop and implement a planning framework focused on the preparation of fully integrated 4-year strategic business plans at the institutional, faculty and support unit levels. The presentation will provide a detailed overview of the integrated planning framework utilized by the university, the process of developing and implementing the planning framework, the lessons learned and the benefits realized by committing to such a process.

This knowledge resource from SCUP is a concurrent session presented at the Society's thirty-seventh annual, international conference and Expo, SCUP–37, in San Diego, CA (USA), in July of 2002.

Audiocassettes of this and other SCUP–37 sessions are available for purchase here.

Due to our concern for the privacy of members of the face-to-face audiences at SCUP–37, our digital archives of SCUP–37 presentations end at the beginning of the question and answer portion of each session. Whenever we can, we not only provide streaming audio but the slide show or visual presentation used by the presenters, as well.
