Science in the New Millenium: A Process to Support Flexibility in a Traditionally Inflexible Environment
Presenter(s): Nancy O. Jannik, Winona State University; Gary C. McNay, Perkins & Will; Marianne O'Brien, Perkins & Will
This presentation focuses on Winona State University¹s commitment to a proactive learning community. Through this commitment, an innovative ³Investigative Science Program² has been designed around non-science majors, specifically focusing on elementary education. To reinforce this initiative, the design of their new science building needed to address both curriculum change and alternative space utilization. We will explore three topics crucial in the planning process for this facility: collaborative planning process including multiple non-science constituents, alternative space types and application, and funding and program alignment. |
