The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina is located on Harbor Island in beautiful San Diego Bay! Surrounded by panoramic views, guests are a short walk from outdoor recreational activities including bicycling, a jogging path, charter boats, and yachting. Other options within a short drive are the Jack Murphy stadium, the San Diego Zoo, Mission beach and Sea World Park.

The hotel offers six restaurants, a heated indoor pool and an outdoor pool, meeting rooms and an optional fitness center. Guest services include concierge, a 24 hour front desk and a car rental office. Sleeping rooms offer a coffeemaker and wet bar, balconies and optional high speed Internet service.

Reservations

The SCUP–37 special room rate for attendees of SCUP–37 is $188 US single or $198 US double. Be sure to request this SCUP conference rate when you register. Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out is Noon. The cut-off date for the discounted rate is June 9, 2002.

Airlines

SCUP has selected United Airlines as the official airline for the conference. A 5percent discount off the lowest applicable fare will be offered when you or your travel agent call United's meetings reservations center at 800.521.4041 and refer to meeting ID number 557FP. A 10 percent discount is offered off the unrestricted midweek coach airfare. Purchase your ticket at least 60 days in advance of travel and save another 5 percent. Discounts apply on domestic segments of all United, Shuttle by United, and United Express flights. Book early to take advantage of best promotional fares. Reservation staff is on duty seven days a week from 7:00 am until midnight eastern standard time.

Ground Transportation

The Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina offers free shuttle service between the airport and hotel. Sheraton vans are found near the baggage claim area of Terminal 2 and run every 15 minutes from 5:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Reservations are not necessary and shuttle service after hours is available upon request by calling the hotel front desk. Other travel options are taxi and car rental. Avis rent-a-car is the official car rental agency for SCUP–37. Reservations can be made by calling 1.800.331.1600. Avis has offered SCUP discounted rates. The hotel offers self serve and valet parking for $13 and $18 per day. Car rental booths are located in the airport near the baggage claim areas in both terminals.

Driving Directions to the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina

From San Diego International Airport Take the exit which becomes Harbor Island Drive and travel over the bridge. The hotel is on the right hand side, about a 5 minute drive.
From North Take Interstate 5 South to the Sassafrass/San Diego Airport Exit. Turn right on Laurel Street and another right on Harbor Drive. Continue for 1.5 miles to Harbor Island.
From South Take Interstate 5 North to the Hawthorne/San Diego Airport Exit. Then make a right on Harbor Drive. Continue for 1.5 miles to Harbor Island.
From East Take Interstate 8 West to Interstate 5 South. Then take the Sassafrass/San Diego Airport Exit. Make a right turn on Laurel Street and then another right on Harbor Drive. Continue for 1.5 miles to Harbor Island.

Parking

Overnight Guest Self-Parking is $13.00 and overnight Guest Valet Parking is $18.00. (Subject to change)
