Membership Dues
MEMBERSHIP TYPES & DUESSCUP offers individual memberships. They are non-transferable and last one year. SCUP does not offer institutional or company memberships (in other words, the university itself is not a member), but the society does offer institutions and companies the opportunity to purchase "groups of individual memberships" at a discount per person. For institutions, the dues are based on Full-Time Enrollment (FTE) as reported in the Higher Education Directory. These institutional and corporate group memberships are transferable but the group itself only lasts one year from the time it was created. MEMBERSHIP TYPESIndividual Membership at an Institution—An individual employed by a postsecondary institution. The membership is owned by the individual and is non-transferable. Individual Membership at a Corporate/Non-Institutional Entity—An individual employed by a business, firm, partnership, or corporation that is actively engaged in the manufacture or supply of goods and services to the higher education marketplace. The membership is owned by the individual and is non-transferable. Group Membership at a Postsecondary Institution—A group of individuals from a single campus or location of a postsecondary institution. The membership is owned by the single campus or location of that postsecondary institution. The institution can add or subtract anyone from that campus or location to or from the group during the one-year period of membership. Group Membership at a Corporate/Non-Institutional Entity—A group of individuals from a business, firm, partnership, or corporation that is actively engaged in the manufacture or supply of goods and services to the higher education marketplace. The membership is owned by the company, and the company can add or subtract anyone from the group during the one-year period of membership. Retired—An individual who is no longer employed full time and is over the age of 65. Student*—An undergraduate or graduate student enrolled (at the time of application) at a postsecondary institution who is not employed in a full-time, professional position. "Full time" is defined as 40 hours or more per week.
