Useful News Media and/or Periodicals
The following are either periodicals relating to higher education with good online access, news media which have higher education-related areas on their websites, or media which publish information in some other way pertinent to SCUP's constituencies.

- CASE Currents
- Chronicle of Higher Education the Chronicle publishes more online than in print. Some items are available only to registered users, and such registration requires that you have a Chronicle subscription.
- Christian Science Monitor This international newspaper has a section dedicated to educational issues and routinely comes up with some nice, thorough coverage of important issues.
- DesignArchitecture News This website publishes a daily email newsletter (free to all) with items of interest to architects, occasionally pertinent to higher education. Those items are archived on its website. In addition, it publishes features and articles that are often of interest.
- Daily News Daily News, from Distance-Educator.com, is an email newsletter, fully archived on a website, which also has a searchable database of nearly 10,000 useful links.
- ECS e-CONNECTION This is a weekly email newsletter, fully archived on a website, published by the Education Commission of the States - has good, state-by-state information affecting k-12 and higher education.
- EDUCAUSE Quarterly A quality periodical about higher education and information, frequently publishing articles with a big picture perspective as well as more technical ones. The entire contents of each issue are available on line as PDF documents.

- Edupage A daily email news digest, free to all, about information technology with a higher education and policy slant. It is archived on its Web page.
- Electronic AIR This is a long-established monthly email newsletter about institutional research in higher education - a publication of the Association for Institutional Research. Archived on line.
- Facilities Manager Facilities Manager is published six times a year by APPA, the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers. Not all, but many of the articles are also available on line and are frequently of interest.
- Healthcare Design Magazine
- National Crosstalk Crosstalk is a publication of the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education. It's quarterly, all of it is available on line, and has in depth, quality coverage of interesting issues.
- Planning for Higher Education PHE is a SCUP quarterly publication for members and subscribers. At the moment its full contents are available to all on line, however plans are underway to restrict access to much of the content to members and subscribers only. Fully searchable, both for its own articles and the 20 or so annotated citations that are also in each issue, culled from a review of about 40 higher education publications.
- SCUP Email News SEN is a weekly email newsletter with information about activities of the Society for College and University Planning and links to other pertinent, timely Web resources and news items. It is open to all for subscription.
- Syllabus Syllabus is a monthly magazine dedicated to issues of information technololgy and higher education. It's mostly available online and also publishes a couple of email newsletters that anyone can subscribe to.
- Technology Source the Technology SOurce is solely on line and is the brainchild of long-time SCUPer Jim Morrison. Pubishes articles interviews, and reviews pertinent to the application and effects of information technology on teaching and learning, mostly in higher education.
- Tradeline Tradeline is a resource-packed website where you can also register to receive timely email notifications of new items. Its focus is on facilities planning and management, especially research and laboratory facilities, often with a higher education perspective and focus.
- Virtual University Gazette the Virtual University Gazette's focus is clearly delineated by its title. In addition to being an email newsletter, it is fully archived on its website.
- Washington Post the Washington Post has an education section and, within that section, one on higher education, where it archives pertinent articles, often of interest - and they remain accessible without password protection over time.
- University Business University Business is a monthly magazine which, in addition to the print version, posts all of its content on the Internet, with access free to all. It features in depth articles which are frequently of interest. In addition, it publishes a daily higher education-related news media annotated citation list in the form of an email newsletter, which anyone may subscribe to.
