location
for SCUP–39, the Sheraton Centre Toronto, is a dynamic hotel located in
the heart of Toronto's lively theatre, business and entertainment
districts. The hotel is directly connected to the underground PATH
shopping complex, which features 1,200 upscale shops and services.
Additional hotel features include 24-hour room service as well as 3
restaurants and 2 lounges. The hotel also boasts indoor and outdoor
pools, as well as saunas, a hot tub, and Cybex and Lifefitness exercise
equipment. The highlight of this elaborate facility is 2.5 acres of
picturesque waterfall gardens and terraces.
Attendees
should make lodging reservations directly with the Sheraton Centre.
When calling, indicate you are attending the "SCUP conference" or "The
Society for College and University Planning conference" to receive
discounted rates. Rates listed do not include a Room Tax of 5 Percent
Per Room Per Night, GST of 7 Percent Per Room Per Night (Refundable to
Canadian visitors), and the DMF of 3 Percent Per Room Per Night. A
valid credit card is required. One nights lodging will be billed to
your credit card. Reservations may be cancelled until 6pm on the day of
arrival without penalty. Check-in time is 3:00pm; checkout is 12:00
noon. Conference rates will be applicable three days prior to and after
the meeting, subject to availability. The cutoff date for reservations
is June 17, 2004, but we encourage you to make your reservations early
to ensure availability, as space will fill quickly.
Please don't overlook the preconference workshops on Saturday and
Sunday, when planning your arrival!

From the West
Also Toronto International Airport -
Take 427 South and follow signs for QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way). QEW
turns into the Gardiner Expressway (eastbound). Follow along on
Gardiner and watch on right for York St. Exit. Take York St. exit ramp
slowly. Stay on left side of ramp and follow York Street until it ends
at Queen Street. Turn right onto Queen and you will see motor entrance
for hotel immediately on the right. Welcome!
From the U.S. and Niagara Region
Follow QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) into Metro. QEW turns into the
Gardiner Expressway. Follow Gardiner and watch on right for York St.
exit. Take York St. exit slowly. Stay on left side of ramp and follow
York Street until it ends at Queen Street. Turn right on to Queen and

Follow Highway 401 West to the Don Valley Parkway. Take DVP South all
the way to the Richmond St. exit. Get into right lane of Richmond once
at Bay Street - the hotel is on the right at the corner of Richmond and
York Streets.
Parking
Parking is available 24 hours a day at the hotel for $28.00 CAD per
evening. Daily parking is also available at the Toronto City Hall
parking facility, located directly across the street. The parking
entrances are off of Queen Street West, just after the Queen St. &
York St. intersection. For your convenience, The Sheraton Centre
features direct underground connection to the City Hall parking
facility.

SCUP has selected Hertz as the official car rental company for SCUP-39.
Hertz sets their conference rates at the beginning of the calendar
year, and those rates are guaranteed even if their published rates
increase. At the time reservations are booked, the SCUP conference
rates will automatically be compared to the current Hertz published
rates to assure you will receive the best rental rate on that date.
Because published rates fluctuate and may increase as the peak Canadian
travel season approaches, advance reservations are recommended. Minimum
rental age is 25 (exceptions apply). Be sure to reference the SCUP
convention number, 022R1071 for SCUP-39. Group rates are based on
roundtrip rentals. Meeting rates are guaranteed from one week prior
through one week after the conference dates and are subject to car
availability.

Ground Transportation
From the Airport -
Airport Express Shuttle
For your convenience, Pacific Western operates a 24-hour Airport
Express shuttle bus between Pearson International Airport and The
Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, seven days a week.
The Airport Express bus runs every 20 minutes from both the Sheraton
and the airport, beginning on the hour. From 2am to 5am daily the
shuttle leaves every 30-40 minutes. Tickets can be purchased at the
booths located at every terminal on the arrivals level (outside of
baggage claim) or the Tour Desk in the Sheraton lobby, or with driver.
One-way adult fare to Pearson is CAD$14.25, round-trip is $24.00.
Children ride free with adult.
Pick-up is located at the Richmond Street side of the Sheraton Centre's

Taxi's
are available outside of arrivals in each airport terminal for

From
Union Train Station -
Taxi - available outside of union station for approximately $6 CAD.
Walk - via the PATH system underground or a short 5 block walk above
ground. A PATH underground map is available here. Above ground - turn west out
of Union Station to York Street, head north on York four blocks to
Richmond Street. The Sheraton is on the corner of York and Richmond.
Subway - Within Union Station terminal, take the subway two stops west
to Osgoode Station, Walk east on Richmond Street to the Sheraton.
