Combining and mixing uses in new campus buildings, and the merging of private and public areas with new enterprise areas and commercial development are evident in this master plan. Transportation changes and transit space are critical plan components of the "gateway" neighborhood in the future socially vibrant University Town. This plan represents an energetic and contemporary design for a new university mixed use neighborhood, bringing the campus together creating a vital community hub. This plan was developed as the outcome of a competition. The entire design and planning process represents a collaboration of university administration, campus stakeholders and the architectural team. The project involved five development parcels, six buildings, with a site area of approximately eighteen acres.
